Wedding cake-style Wink Theatre in Dalton, Ga.

After our weekend Christmas trip to Dahlonega, Ga., Sweetums and I meandered home and stopped for lunch in Dalton, Ga. I’ll be doing posts in coming days on Dahlonega, Helen, Talking Rock, tab-and-slot gravestones and more from our trip but today I wanted to share a couple of photos of the adorable Wink Theatre in Dalton.

It was overcast so the photos are not great but you can still see the tiered design on the top of the venue. According to Cinema Treasures, “The Wink Theatre was built by J.C.W. Wink in 1941. It was designed to be a smaller version of the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Until around 2005, the Wink Theatre was used as a classic movie theatre and live performance theatre. In 2008 it is in use as a church.” It was being used as a church when we visited Sunday.
