Do you see the Jesus on an Alabama hospital door?

Although I still haven’t seen it for myself, Sweetums finally went and got photos of the visage of Jesus on the hospital door in Jasper. I heard about it years ago and keep meaning to visit. It was first seen in 1983 on a door at Walker Baptist Medical Center at 3400 U.S. Highway 78 East.

After numerous people came to see the image, hospital administrators moved the door to a prayer room and covered it to protect it.

The eyes were easy to see, but I had to look online for a photo in black-and-white before I could make out a face. What do you think?

The wood grain in this photo, found on the website The Art of Cats, showed the face a little more clearly than the photos Sweetums took recently. Maybe the image is fading.

  1. My parents had stained wooden doors in their house, and when I was a kid, I saw all sorts of (scary) faces in them. I thought they looked like monsters and I tried not to look at them!
