7 mom things you won’t find in parenting books

Can you ever forgive yourself for the time your child flipped backward from a shopping cart and landed on her head on the concrete floor? Eventually. But you never forget. Making mistakes is part of being a mom but for some reason we find it hard to forgive ourselves.

Perhaps it’s all that advice from parenting books about the right way to feed them, clothe them and educate them. Or the pressure from the other soccer moms to join this play group or that team.

That’s why, this Mother’s Day, I’m going to tell you some things that aren’t in those books. Maybe it’ll make you feel better about yourself. Or maybe it will just make you look at me askance and wonder how my daughter made it to adulthood. Click here to read the list.
